Max Wang Studio focuses on designing and fabricating custom, quality furniture pieces for select clientele. We believe that fabrication process is integral with design, and all of our pieces and hand-crafted in our wood shop in Brooklyn.
Born in the USA, Max originally studied Architecture, earning a Bachelors of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), and then a Masters in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). After working for Architecture and Interior Decorating firms in Boston and New York, he founded, PRODUCE with two classmates from RISD. A multi-disciplinary design company, the work included architecture, interiors, furniture and products. In 2005, Max founded Max Wang Studio, narrowing his focus on furniture design and fabrication.
His wife, Kaori, joined the growing business a year later. Born in Japan, Kaori earned a Bachelors degree in textile design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. After graduating, she worked for small, design orientated, fashion labels including Tess Giberson and TSE before working along side Max full time.
